With the release of the new iPad yesterday, those who went out and bought one now have (most likely) not one, but two iPads collecting dust at home.
If this describes you and you wish to properly dispose of your older iPad model(s), below are a few quick ideas for you.
1. Build Something With It -
You can get crafty and build something unique and fun out of your old iPad such as these bookend stands made with a pair of iPads, a beer keg control center or a retro iPad TV stand. You’re only limited by imagination here.
2. Hand It Down -
Maybe there’s a family member who isn’t quite ready to dole out the $500 for a new iPad, but wouldn’t mind trying it out first via your older gently used model. This would be a perfect way to hand it down and pay it forward, give it to him or her and maybe even teach them how to use it.
3. Sell It -
This is a pretty popular option that many do when new Apple products come out. Since they tend to hold their value pretty well, you can usually get a few hundred dollars for an older model of iPad or iPhone at online venues like Gazelle, Next Worth and so on. You would need to mail it in and upon an approved inspection they – cut you a check.
4. Trade It In -
You could also trade it in for a newer laptop, digital camera, xBox or other similar gadget at places like Radio Shack, Best Buy and even Apple. Look into the various trade programs offered by the retailers I just mentioned and see where you can get the biggest bang for your buck or who has the item you want to trade it in for.
As you can see there are a number of things you can do with your gently used iPad and now it’s up to you to decide which avenue you will take.
