Are you interested in possibly setting up a solar powered back up system in your home? If so, have a look at the nice tutorial by Mike from Tech-Adventures.
In his tutorial, Mike discusses how he works from home and would be devastated by a long power outage. So he devised a system to keep various home electronics including a laptop, router, cell phone charger, printer, cable modem, TV, and other items powered for at least 10 hours via a home solar system he created. He describes in his tutorial the materials he used, the set up and how to go about doing it yourself. In case of a power outage in his home, the items above would still work via his DIY solar back up system.
If you’re even remotely handy, you too might be able to pull this off. Mike mentions he did it for less than $1,000 and the system works for him flawlessly.
