What Is Your Twitter Carbon Footprint?

If you’re not on Twitter (or even know what Twitter is) then you’re probably not going to fully understand this article. But i am going to do my best to show you how you can calculate your carbon footprint, if you do use Twitter.

A site developer has created this cool site that outlines how much CO2 emissions you emit simply from tweeting on micro blogging platform Twitter. It is super easy, all you have to do is enter your username and based on your last 20 tweets, it will spit out an unscientific number.

Now this is just for fun, don’t take it too seriously and freak out about it. However as the creator mentions, it is aimed at creating awareness of how everything we do impacts energy and our natural resources.

The only thing this site needs is a cool name. Why the smart developer didn’t think of this, i’m not sure.

Try it out. You can even have the CO2 results (optionally) tweeted to your followers. What crazy fun!!!

That is a pretty cool idea and yes, everything we do effects the planet and environment, but damn, even Twitter!!!!

LOL! I am a twitter nut, so sue me….please done. Sometimes I forget we are in a litigious society.

Anyway, yes, the developer dropped the ball on the name. i will go as far as to say that names sucks.

They should use something like TweetPrint, or Tweemissions…something like that.

Anything, but what they got.

Hey, Freddie: Yep, everything we do has an impact, even good ole Twitter. But there are things we can all do to minimize this. That’s what we try and cover here on green blog, Keetsa.

TweetCo2.com would also have been a good name idea. Maybe in another incarnation. Thanxs for stopping by my other stomping ground.

Another good idea. The approach is definitely interesting. It shows us that everything goes around in circles and makes an impact on the world. But the good thing is, Tweeting can never get so bad to create imbalance.

Right?
