A material for the 21st century

This is could be the latest and greatest material for the 21st century; its called Aerogel and the possibilities could be endless for space travel and eco friendly projects. So what is it? It is produced from alumina, chromia and tin oxide. But it is referred to as Frozen Smoke or Blue Smoke. What can do? Protect against bomb blasts, clear up chemical and oil spillages, and for you use in spacecraft.

Eco friendly applications include being able to clear chemical spills in water, used as a filter for water and for an air filter, it has tiny (Nano) sized pores which can collect air pollutants, so the eco friendly application are obvious.
