A Solar Powered Tent!

by erin on Sunday, May 20th, 2007

Eureka! has produced a tent which gets charged up on sun! It comes with an LED unit you place on the outside during the day for 8 hours, and it will provide you with 8 hours of light at night.

This idea seems like a good one, but there are lots of solar powered head lamps and lanterns that could provide the same amount of light at night. Also, keeping nylon tents in the direct sun all day can weaken the material. However, if you are they type to forget things when you camp, having a built in light supply means there’s one less thing you’ll be likely to forget.

Unless you forget the tent!

This model sleeps 5-6 and costs $229.95.
