A group of students over at Iowa State University are putting the finishing touches to a solar-powered vehicle which will be used to compete in the American Solar Challenge. The vehicle sports over 500 solar cells and is said to be the best solar-powered vehicle creation to date.
Over $250,000 was used to create this vehicle which will don a three-wheel approach. This will be a lighter vehicle with less rolling resistance with the ability to center the electric motor for improved balance and handling.
The vehicle called the Anthelion has just received a custom paint job and is currently undergoing road testing to make sure it’s ready for the qualifying rounds at the Motorsport Ranch in Cresson, Texas between the 12th and 18th of June.
