Buffet buys Largest Solar Plant for $2B

Warren Buffet has reportedly purchased the world’s largest solar plant from SunPower. The sale was said to be consummated through a division of MidAmerican Energy under Buffet’s Valley Solar Projects worth over $2 billion.
The power plant is a 3,230 acre plant and will reportedly be outfitted with SunPower’s super efficient modular photovoltaic trackers. The plant will be located in Kern and Los Angeles counties in California, considered to be the largest solar plant in the world.
The solar power plants will offset about 775,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to taking 3 million cars off the road over a 20 year period. Construction is expected to commence by the the first quarter of 2013 up to about the end of 2015.
