China has had the knack of being the forerunner for a lot of stuff and now you can add the solar power niche to that list. Apparently China now has the bragging rights of being the first country to install a 3GW Utility-Scale Solar Power.
China has actually had constructed 40 new solar plants dating back to December of last year, overtaking Germany as the top solar power generator. To date, China runs on a hefty 132-utility scale of power plants which places them closer to their goal of producing 15 GW come 2015. Well they have more than 2 years or so to do that, no matter how ambitious that may be.
