Full Scale Electree City

by Brian Yalung on Sunday, January 15th, 2012

Vivien Muller offers another neat concept for outdoor use with the Electree City. As you would guess, this is another one of those public-soliciting brainchilds, a tree-based idea whose aim is to combine the concept of photosynthesis and solar power technology.

With the aid of the expected solar panels incorporated on the Electree City, it was meant to not only be an ideal addition of honing public places but also as another public charging station of sorts for the gadget geeks. The tree would stand 15 feet tall where each of the branches would position the square solar panels facing upward or the sun.

These leaf-like surfaces are covered entirely by solar cells so that the Electree City can soak up the sun’s rays and use them to power public streetlights and the like.
