It is hard not to admire those DIY projects that tend to be eco-friendly. If you want to reiterate your commitment to staying green, then maybe you can try by making the Modified Solar Powered iPad Charger.
Brainchild of Phillip Stearns at Voltaic, the project involves using a low-voltage solar lamp into a USB compatible high-powered charger, for the almighty iPad.
The DIY modification is fairly complicated so make sure you know what you are doing. Some of the stuff needed for the project includes; an IKEA Sunnan Lamp, a soldering iron and accessories, pliers, wire cutters and strippers, a utility knife, a Phillips screwdriver, a rotary tool, cutting wheel, routing bit, epoxy putty, a power drill and 5/16” bit etc.
