Solar powered coffee table

by David Allen on Monday, April 28th, 2008

When a solar power table comes along, they are normally large and heavy affairs, however this one from Solo is completely the opposite to that, in fact it is totally stylish and just looks great.

However the images show the woman using a laptop, I am not quite sure that a laptop can be charged up by using this table, we need a closer look at the specs in order to find that one out, and smaller electrical items are ok though.

Physical Dimensions:

Table Top (including solar panels):

1097mm W x 762mm L X 16mm D

Table Shell (including legs):

1097mm W x 762mm L x 460mm D

Device Storage Drawer:

365mm W x 533.5mm L x 117mm D

Castors: 101.6mm diameter, lockable with 360 degrees rotation

Technology that lets you:

Access Solo system info

Charge your mobile phone

Plug in your portable audio system

Power up your MP3 player

Materials and Components:

Table Top: Tempered glass panels sandwiching a clear resin sealing silicon solar cells

Table Shell and Device Storage Drawer: Formed stainless steel with brushed finish

Table Legs: Polished stainless steel rod

Electronic Components: LCD monitor, Maximum Power Point Tracker, Charge Controller, Bluetooth transmitter and a rechargeable battery array

Unfortunately there is no information on prices etc, so we can assume that it is not going to be cheap!
