Solar powered flash light

by David Allen on Saturday, June 2nd, 2007

Bogolight is the company that makes these solar powered flashlights, so what! You may be thinking there are quite a lot of companies out there making these type of flashlght, which is right, but the story here is in the name, BOGO stands for “Buy One, Give One” which does not mean that you have to buy two and give one away, you still buy one and the company will give one away to various charities who work in the developing world.

If you can imagine living without any electricity, no lighting etc, now can you imagine the sort of impact that something like this will have on ordinary people in these countries, how just a simple torch can help them.

The tech bit is that the torch is supposed to last for around twenty years and will fully charge in eight hours, this charge will provide around 4 to 5 hours of light.

The price for this and the one that gets given away is $25
