Depending on where you are located, it is apparent that not all have the luxury of drinking safe water these days. And while there are solutions that aid in ensuring that you drink safe water, there are some who have improvised a bit by using no less than natural energy sources such as the sun to do so.
Take for example this brainchild by Gabriele Diamanti. He designed the Eliodomestico, a solar-powered water distiller that is reportedly about 3 times as efficient as traditional solar stills. It runs without the aid of electricity and was made from terra-cotta and zinc-plated metal sheets, which can be produced by local folks too if they can get on such materials.
The process includes filling up the tank with water in the morning with standard water. Come night time, simply collect the water from the evaporated and re-condensed water in a portable recipient placed underneath the tank.
The only question here is what if it is raining or the sun doesn’t want to come out?
