The Solaleya Pearl House offers Sustainable Energy

Integrated with photovoltaic cells, here is a house that offers sustainable energy while at the same time limiting the amount of solar energy it collects in a year. The photovoltaic panels are situated at the top white steel roof which likewise incorporates passive solar-energy.
The panels face the front bay windows towards the equator, providing natural light and warmth while at the same time protecting the house from polar wind drafts. Additionally, the roof is insulated with a layer of air and cork beads, external walls are made of 12 inch-thick compressed straw, and rainwater is collected at the rear of the house.
