Water Resistant Solar Panels

Solar panels are not free from the usual rigors that rain or any water exposure may cause but if this grant given to a University of Pennsylvania professor gets any ground, then perhaps we may be looking at water resisting solar panels in the near future.

Apparently the professor named Shu Yang gained the attention through his holographic lithography to develop a material qualities that point towards water-resistant butterfly wings.

Yang gained the nod and has been tasked to develop these new butterfly-inspired hydroscopic coatings which should provide additional protection, drier and more efficient solar panels which should be a neat perk in the future for structures and the like who are leaning towards more efficient solar energy sources.
