China continues to aggressively move forward as far as developing alternative power is concerned. And with the reported installation of perhaps the world’s tallest wind farms, it looks like they have solidified themselves even more.
Thanks to energy developer Longyuan power, five new wind turbinets have been installed in Tibet at a height of 4,900 meters above sea level. This is said to be just the initial phase of the project which will eventually see 33 turbines put up.
According to reports, Longyuan Power‘s final goal is to install 33 sets of 96 meter 1500 kilowatts wind turbines over 312 acres in Tibet’s Nagqu County for a total capacity of 49.5 MW.
