Handmade Exotic Wood Bowls from Masaya Market

by Missy on Thursday, August 16th, 2007

In Nicaragua, there is an artisans market called Masaya Market, where beautiful handmade items are created by the locals.

I first heard of Masaya Market through an article a photojournalist wrote over at Matador Travel, when she visited as part of mission work. The Nicaraguan locals create everything from wall art to ceramics from kitchen accessories to exotic wood bowls

The handmade tortilla bowl pictured above is made with a blend of exotic woods and they are all one-of-a-kind. The bowl is truly beautiful in design and with each purchase you’re helping to boost both the artisan community and also the missionary work performed by Americans in Nicaragua. The site was created by a mission worker named Eric Paulsen.

Visit the Masaya Market for handmade and unique home accessory design ideas.
