When is freezing cold outside and the heating is on inside, it is sometimes difficult to judge how cold it is on the other side of the door.

A British company has won the contract to build the world largest tidal power scheme in south Korea, costing around £500 million the system will make use of the fast flowing tides that will run through the filed of three hundred 60ft tall underwater turbines, which have been fixed to the sea bed.

Buy this for the person who has trouble getting up in the mornings and they will never have a decent excuse for being late for work ever again. The solar powered alarm clock is actually one of the first products to have been awarded the Blue Angel environment label; this is an internationally recognised award.

This is not your ordinary DIY job; these panels are made from discarded and broken solar panels that can be found down at the tip or any other place that may take trash. But what the people who have thrown these away do not realise is that these panels are still ok to use. Sure they don’t as clean and shiny as new ones, but they are free and do work!

Everyone should have one these on their balcony or in their garden, but why solar power? It simple really the solar provides the umbrella with free electricity for the eighteen LED’s that are located on the bars that keep the fabric pulled nice and tight.
If that was not enough there are also eight LED’s that have been placed inside the hub the of the umbrella, the power can be switch from both locations depending on how you want to use it

This is great way of saving electricity for lighting, its lamp as you can see, but with a difference.
This lamp is powered by hand all you need to do hold the handle which actually looks like a hand drill, you know those ones that were around before electricity! Once you have turned the handle for around a minute this would have built up enough charge to power LED’s for up to an hour, great!

Sounds like these are not going to be that brilliant but in actual fact these lanterns are really great to look at and will look very special not matter where they are placed. From a distance it is hard to make out that they are made from old aerosol and soda cans, because the colours just look like a normal pattern.

There are many people who have been waiting for something like this to come along, the solar powered laptop, the panels charge up the battery and the computer is good to go.
The solar panel could be removed from the laptop and the battery can then be charged up by the main electric power, this is great for people who work outside a lot, because two to three hours of battery is not much use for anyone.

These lights are great for outside where it is difficult to wire up an electric light which is so awkward and time consuming, whereas these lights can be fixed into place and that is that.
But unlike some types of solar powered light these look like those electric ones, they contain two LED’s and a when they have been fully charged up, they will then provide up to six hours of light, which would be enough for most of the night.
