The Royal guards in London, England are considering alternative fabric for their guardsmen hats than black bear.
As reported on green celebrity blog Ecorazzi last week, a letter by a well known British comedian was sent to the Prime Minister, urging to consider an alternative to black bear fur.
It currently takes one black bear for every hat worn by the Buckingham guard. 50-100 new hats are needed every year.

Of course this is no ordinary T Shirt we wouldn’t do that would we? This is 100% organic cotton fabric that has been made in the US, so it does not get any better than that.

We are all aware that much of the attention today is set on the Olympics and most countries are gearing up for the prestigious meet. The development of a new eco friendly surf board is not an easy thing to start off on, but the people over at 21 Imagine Surf shop are finding that there is demand for this type of product and are in the process of the getting their first one finished.

Being green does mean that you have walk around in clothes from the seventies, you can buy some really up to the minute fashion that has been made from either reused or recycled materials.
Take this jacket from Patagonia, their clothing is made from recycled materials, and this coat is actually made from a fabric that has been made from recycled plastic bottle. This is a great use for these bottles, which would have ended up in land fill.

This is a great idea for anyone looking for an alternative to the usual type of flowerpot. These Fabric Pots have a sleeve which when filled with soil becomes rigid and therefore stable enough to place a plant in.

This another firm who have found a use for a part of a car that is pretty hard to do any useful with, the seat belts, these are hard wearing and very strong fabric belts and a company called Tree Cycle have found a great use for them in the manufacture of their great bags.

This hammock, otherwise known as a Ting Sling, is made out of recycled seatbelt fabric. This surprisingly soft and comfortable sleeper was designed by Inghua Ting, a British designer.
I love the bright, cheery colors she uses!
