It is well known that the former Baywatch actress has a green streak running through her and what better way to prove it than developing five acres of prime water front land in her home town of Ladysmith in Canada. She has teamed up with Geoff Courtnall the ex hockey player to build eighty three eco friendly housing units.

It’s great to see items made from tyres, we say this a lot and it seems there are more and more designers seeing that the material used to make the humble car tyre can also be used to produce some excellent items that can be used both in the home and outside.
Each rug uses around 130 to 140 inner tubes from bicycle tyres that have been discarded. Made in India by hand and loomed by hand too.

Flip flops are not very eco friendly they get lost in sea and break into bits which is not very nice for the wildlife because they can choke on the smaller pieces. But what do you do with all of those flip flops that do not get sold?
Make furniture out them is the answer which is not only eco friendly but the furniture is so cool that it will look brilliant in any home or office, like this ottoman. Its multi coloured, looks like it could have

Recycling old pieces of metal etc is nothing new. But when they are put together and turned into something else entirely which is useful and stylish too.
The main part of the body is made from some sort of a metal bottle, which is very handy because where the bottle had a screw top this, can now be used as an easy opener so that the money can be taken out.

What great picnic table, this has been created by using old recycled skis, which is a good idea, because these things are made to be very tough, after all they do go through a lot a punishment when they are being used, so they must be good enough for a table.
It comes in at a size of thirty inches by sixty inches and is very heavy, which will last the test of time, unlike normal picnic benches which are prone to splitting and drying out, which

This is a nice piece of design and creation, which would look great in any home and in any place around the home.
It is made from an old recycled bicycle chain ring, which everyone knows because it is the part that the pedals go through and the chain around. The clock face is merely a piece of printed paper, but when the whole thing is combined it just looks great.
Requires one AA battery which is included, the clock measures around seven inch

This has to be the ultimate in recycling and design, its modern and its eco friendly too. Which is why this is so desirable by some people and some people would think that it is totally wrong, which it may be for certain types of home etc.
It is held in a stainless steel frame which will stand the test of time due to the hard wearing ability, the build runs up the middle so that it gets the best of the glass and the light effect.

This has to be the eco house of the year so far, this has been built in England by the owner and with some help from his friends.
Surprisingly it cost around $8,000 to complete although they did do a lot of the work themselves like piling up the straw bales for the walls and laying turf on the roof, which has flowers in it and so on. The whole project took only ten months to complete.
