In order to combat water shortage, several restaurants have taken the initiative to only serve tap water — and to only do so upon request!

The Mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg has announced that the city’s taxi fleet will consist of completely hybrid models by the year 2012.
This initiative is part of the greater plan to reduce NYC’s greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by the year 2030. Currently, only 375 of the city’s 13,000 taxis are hybrids.
