G-Oil, a product from Green Earth Technologies, is an eco-friendly motor oil that will soon be made available to consumers. It is based on animal fat and is petroleum free. The animal fats come from meat processing utilities. These are waste fats from cattle instead of the more commonly known fossil-fuel.

Also, the packaging is eco-friendly as well. They are recycled milk jugs and recycled paper labels using soy inks for the printing on them.

“We turn that into liquid form and use nanotechnology to have it perform in lubricant format,” explained company CEO Jeff Marshall.

With all the controversies surrounding the use of paper and its manner of production, this should not stop people from doing business and handing out their personal cards. But while we all know that the source of business cards are the usual paper and cardboards that make use of trees and other natural resources prior to printing, using eco-friendly or recycled paper is a great way to go green for starters.

All you need is clear paper to which you can print your personal information and surely a lot of recycled paper can do the job for you.

Printing business cards is cheap these days — sometimes even free. But what about eco-friendly cards? How many of you who work in an office go through paper, like it grows on trees? I’m sure the answer to that question…..is way too much. I have worked in offices where there were mountains of paper piled high daily, either in a copyroom or a print room. Insulair, a new product division from (not so eco-friendly) Dixie, has created Eco-Smart, a paper cup that is made from 99% post consumer recycled fiber. The insulating middle layer contains 99% recycled paper. It is not as good as using a refillable and reusable bottle or cup, but recycling does contributing to less waste in our landfills.

The cup also boasts a built-in-sleeve to help keep your hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold. No need for those extra sleeves they give out, gosh what terrible waste those sleeves are, too.

What do you guys think of this new eco-cup? I reported it, but have mixed feelings on it, as i feel folks are not going to recycle them as they are paper cups, and folks are use to trashing them out. Hmm. I’m not too sure on this one. Let me know what ya think?

Incubus is only the latest set of rockers to decide that it is actually easy to be green. For their current tour, they have included such green measures as traveling with biodiesel fueled tour buses, selling organic cotton merchandise and using recycled paper for pamphlets and advertising.

“This is the first time we’ve actually catered a whole tour towards it,” drummer Jose Pasillas says during a phone interview from Arendal, Norway.

“We’ve always been sort of eco-conscious on all our tours, but this is the first time we’re doing it this extensive.”

“It’s nice to be able to get to a point where we can actually help as much as we can to all these different needs,” says Pasillas about the various causes the band supports.

In addition to greening their tour, the band has found success with their non-profit, the Make Yourself Foundation. Since 2003, Incubus has raised almost $900,000 for their favorite charities, such as the Surfrider Foundation, The Painted Turtle and Carbon Neutral.

These are a group of rockers who know how to do it right!

We all know for a fact that paper is produced from trees that are cut down. While books are coming out from all areas, all of us have been advised to use recycled paper rather than cut down the trees for new production of paper materials.
