In Russia and China it seems a new fur market has opened up, and because of this, seal hunting has again resurfaced. Jeez!

How abominable a practice is seal hunting? Essentially it is a call for blood, a war on seals, a bounty on every seals head. We dont need to support this pratice, we need to be the voice of these poor creatures who are slaughtered by those who only see green (and not eco green) but money. Don’t buy fur or fur-trimmed products.

Pam Anderson is protesting, as she has done for many years on behalf of animals who dont have a voice. She is speaking to the Canadian government to halt the horrid practice of seal hunting.

However you may feel about the private life (marriage and career trials and tribulations) of Pam Anderson, there is no denying her stance and her convictions when it comes to animal rights. She also is a long time vegetarian. She is vocal and strong in her determination, and as a well known celeb she can bring about change. We love that.

For example, in Russia, big cats are on the decline and fast.

“The rarest species in Russia are all big cats. They include the Persian Leopard, with only a few animals known in the North caucuses, but with a population of around 200 in Turkmenistan. Also highly endangered is the Far Eastern or Amur leopard. According to the WWF (World Wildlife Foundation) there are just 35 animals left - with 30-32 in Russia, and three or four leopards over the border in China”.

How do nuclear materials become available? One thing pointed out in this video is on how the necessary materials needed to make nuclear weapons and destruction for terrorists and people who want get hold of stockpiles of uranium such as Russia.

While most of these areas are secured, security should not be taken for granted. Considering that these people have total disregard to the environmental and human effects, it is quite important that such nuclear weapons are put into check and as much as possible kept out of reach from anyone.

Great Subjects published a list today of the World’s Dirtiest Cities. The cities — and the list– isn’t pretty. The list includes Chernobyl, Ukraine; La Oroya, Peru; Linfen, China; Norlisk, Russia and Ranipet, India.

I’m not exacly sure what crtieria they used to determine the “dirtiness” of each city, nor how scientific the list is. However, some of the pictures are heartbreaking.
