There are many people who have been waiting for something like this to come along, the solar powered laptop, the panels charge up the battery and the computer is good to go.
The solar panel could be removed from the laptop and the battery can then be charged up by the main electric power, this is great for people who work outside a lot, because two to three hours of battery is not much use for anyone.

Getting computers to run on solar power is very difficult, this is because the actual solar panels are big, bulky and heavy, or that was how it used to be.
Now solar panels are slimmer, lighter and more powerful, which means that they can be used for all sorts of things other than powering calculators. This set up has done just that, by utilising a solar panel to power up a multi computer set up. One day all offices will be like this!

What a really cool idea this is, a combination of coloured glass and solar panels, so instead of those dreary dark panels that could only pass of as a mirror and a bad one at that.

Ideal for any outside building, as wiring is not necessary, the solar panel is fixed onto the side of the building and the small strip light is then placed inside where the light is needed. The device is charged up during the daylight hours and will give around five hours worth of light, which is pretty good really.

Researchers at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) have developed an inexpensive solar cell that can be painted or printed on flexible plastic sheets. This means, if it gets good enough, you could print out useable solar panels in your very own home!!

Here is a neat idea: using a solar panel to power-up the electrical part of your hybrid car. If only I had been the one to come up with it! Solar Electric Vehicles did first, though.
They can add solar panels to the roofs of hybrid cars like the Toyota Prius, and it lets them operate for up to 20 miles a day — improving their energy efficiency by 29%.
