DIY water heater

Build your own solar powered water heater, by using your own old fridge. Yes this is a way where not only can you get rid of all of those old refrigerators but you will be getting hot water as well.

This is a right nifty little idea, where recycling can lead to producing something else that is very practical for your home. The instructions are easy to follow and if you are that way inclined and have all of the handyman skills needed to complete the job.

Man in China Builds Water Heater from Beer Bottles, some say Solar Powered?

beer-bottle-solar-panel.jpg

I seem to have a knack for coming up with fantastically long titles. This post is no exception, look at that long baby. As seen in sk-rt, the new social bookmarking site for women, a man in China has created the first solar powered water heater constructed of beer bottles, yes beer bottles. Is this solar powered? maybe not, but the sun does heat up the water that runs through the beer bottles. So a more appropriate term could be sun powered.

This guy has come up with a creative and inexpensive way to heat the water that his family, especially his mom, need for daily essentials and also is environmentally friendly.

If this doesn’t embody someone employing an alternative energy use, i don’t know what will.
