Green Cars: Eco-friendly or Profit Friendly

Toyota Hybrid

I have made some previous posts over the past weeks about green transportation and while we all know that this is the trend that most people look at these days, again let me shoot back the question: “Are Car Manufacturers really eco-friendly or looking it as a profit opportunity for their companies to rack in the money?”

Apparently we cannot blame consumers today for being apprehensive. The cost of getting one vehicle today is really hard on the pockets. Considering the factors of the oil price crisis as well, many of the people today are computing for the future as well on how feasible it is to invest in these electric-powered cars offered in the market today.

Likewise, we cannot blame the car manufacturers from setting high prices. The raw materials used in manufacturing one car is no joke as well. So whether they are in it for profit or not, would you not do the same thing if you were in a precarious situation?

Toyota plans to raise the price of the Prius Hybrid as much as $300. The more fuel efficient Asian cars have been selling better than the U.S.-made cars.
