We have combined the superior strength of steel that allows for stable support, along with a natural rustic look created with hand brushed coating.

Compatible to most conventional headboards. Two of the legs on one end of the frame have openings where a headboard can be attached. (Each opening size is 2" x 0.25", and approximately 2.25" apart from each other. The bottom opening is 5.75" from the ground.)
MATERIALS
Frame rails are made with a gold brushed coated steel.
Metal surface coating has been tested for safety according to European Standard EN71-3:2013+A:2014, which is the standard for toy safety chemical requirements.

I got this bed about a month ago, so here are my thoughts. I had been in analysis paralysis looking at wood bed frames after bed frames after bed frames. After getting frustrated with all the options and pricing ranges and confusing quality and marketing gimmicks, I settled on this one. \nPackaging was well protected. Heavy box. Lots of plastic and cardboard to throw away, but seemingly well protected. My box was pretty beat up but nothing was damaged inside. \nSetting it up was easy, bolts together quickly. I recommend using a ratcheting allen wrench for the tight working area. Of all the holes for the bolts I think only 1 or 2 were not fully aligned so it was kind of fussy, but some elbow grease did get them in. Did not have any issues with the washers like I saw on some reviews, but I also did not overtighten. No issues there so far.\nSupport, the frame itself is pretty sturdy, the slats have some flex to them. Initially I could hear some of the slats creaking when I was sitting directly onto the slatted areas, but I think that was just them settling. Have not heard any creaking since. The metal frame itself has no shaking, creaking, or movement. Very sturdy. Time will tell on that one, but seems good. \nThe frame is light enough to push around on carpet, so if you need to move it, you should be able to.\nI like the height of it. Perfect for storing clothing/drawers below, and also a comfortable sitting height for our 8" thick mattress (Which we intend to replace at some point). \nThe finish said black crushed, but its more like a gunmetal color, definitely not "black" as advertised. I was a bit disappointed on that part.\nOverall, I think this was a good purchase and would recommend it. But it is overpriced for what it is, so look for a good sale. For its price, I think you'll have better quality than some "wood" frames in this price range. Its not a "pretty" frame, but its functional and hopefully this lasts a while. You can always use a bed skirt and hide it if you want.
